About the event

Collage: Collaging helps us express a thought, idea or emotion using already-created words and images we cut/tear from magazines, books, or posters. Creating journals: We’ll use recycled materials to create and design our own journals. Haikus: Writing haikus (a form of Japanese poetry) can improve our writing skills, helping us write more succinctly and express more in fewer words. Using the 5-7-5 format, haikus can help us deepen our powers of observation and concentration, boost emotional resiliency, and relieve stress. Mandalas: Drawing, coloring, and painting mandalas uses both hemispheres of the brain, activating the analytical and creative parts that enhance problem-solving skills, refine motor skills, and produce inner calm. Creating with mandalas can get our minds out of the daily grind and help us rediscover creativity in our lives. Hours: 10am-1pmCost: $59/person No experience necessary. All supplies provided. A minimum of 3 people need to register 48 hours prior to class or it will be canceled. Text Paula Jo with any questions about the class @ 214.415.2952. Class is located at 550 B Hot Springs Blvd. Streetside under Department of Human Services and across from the Police Dept.

PCI’s mission and practices reflect our shared belief that the diversity of humanity is the greatest asset of our community.

Our strength comes from our diversity, and we celebrate the visible and invisible qualities that make each person unique. We are purposeful in our journey to include all races, cultures, gender, ages, sexualities, abilities, religions, national origins, gender identities, life experiences, and other identities.

All employees, participants, and families have a responsibility to treat others with dignity and respect at all times. We encourage ongoing growth through the examination of personal bias and commit to our continued collective education.
